The client had trialed LED lighting options for the office areas but wanted something that met with the aesthetics of the Armstrong SAS metal ceiling grid which added a modern look and feel to the office space. The luminous smart troffers and panels were fitted in a trial area and was an instant success with the managers and office staff.

By switching to these smart luminaires, the customer has reduced their energy consumption from 159,082KWh per, to less than 62,400KWh per year, which means a minimum 5 year saving of over £65,000. Besides, these smart luminaires could meet the unique lighting needs of each individual room.

The lighting retrofit project replaced 3,687 lights with high efficiency LEDs. This upgrade brought a significant increase in operational and energy efficiencies: a nearly 60% reduction in electricity costs related to lighting which led to savings of approximately $300,000 and 1.3M kWh of electricity per year. More importantly, the brighter, more reliable lighting allowed hospital to provide a sense of safety and reassurance to patients and staff.
